CNBC    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article

Because of the strong business, its backlog of orders more than doubled from the same quarter last year, the company is concentrating on boosting production and building inventory. More

Fox News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Dozens of senior-level U.S. government officials turned a blind eye to public safety as they pursued an ill-conceived and poorly managed investigation into gun trafficking in Mexico, according to a long-awaited inspector general's report on Operation Fast and Furious. Portions of the Justice Department IG report, which has not been made public, were obtained exclusively by Fox News Channel. More

How 9/11 affected national and personal defense
Guns & Ammo    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Richard Nance: When I awoke on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, I was excited to begin a much-anticipated, two-week police weaponless defense instructor course. I stopped by the police station to grab a cup of coffee and some equipment before I headed to a nearby regional training center. While at the station, I watched the news in disbelief, first as one plane, then another, crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. More

FINALLY, a gun lubricant exists that can withstand the most extreme conditions.
After using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, Floro Lavalle with Sierra Outfitters in Argentina reported cleanings were much easier, they were needed less frequently and field jamming went down to almost non-existent. While these statements may seem generic and boring, consider that they shoot on average 2000-5000 rounds per day per gun, OVER 1 MILLION ROUNDS PER YEAR, and pair that with Lavalle’s full season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus. His report was an 83% reduction in repair/replacement costs. MORE...

The Daily Caller    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
This year's election is going to define the future of our freedom, perhaps more than any other in our history. For gun owners, there are a number of areas crucial to the survival of our Second Amendment rights. That's why I took the time to visit with Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential nominee, to find out precisely where he stands on the issues of concern to gun owners. More

AmmoLand    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The Sportsmen's Act of 2012 is up for possible consideration next week in the U.S. Senate. This Act is virtually identical to the amendment Sen. Jon Tester (along with Sen. Thune, R-S.D.) hoped to add to the Farm Bill in June of 2012. Attached is the bill — S. 3525 — which is really about 20 bills rolled into one package. Embedded is a brief description of the act and a short document that describes each section of the bill. More

    Arming illegal aliens through 'non-amnesty'
AmmoLand    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The lamestream media told you: Sidestepping Congress which has refused to act reasonably on various amnesty plans proposed by Mr. Obama, the White House has implemented a program to allow certain undocumented immigrants stay in the country through a "non-amnesty" implemented by executive order, being called "deferred action." This allows youngsters brought into the country illegally by their parents to apply for waivers and attend college. More

    ATF's latest gun grab
The Washington Times    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The Obama administration is making it easier for bureaucrats to take away guns without offering the accused any realistic due process. In a final rule published last week, the Justice Department granted the ATF authority to "seize and administratively forfeit property involved in controlled-substance abuses." That means government can grab firearms and other property from someone who has never been convicted or even charged with any crime. More

More pistol-packin' mommas at home on the range
Forbes    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Larry Bell: I've been noticing more deer and antelope amidst the old roaming buffaloes at my favorite gun range, and they aren't just playing either. Some of them appear to be practicing as if their lives depend upon it. And maybe, they're right. Also, more families, including young children, seem to be participating as well. More

Shooting tip: Keep weight of gun in the hands
NSSA-NSCA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The weight of the gun should rest in the hands. As with most hand-eye coordination sports, the eyes should lead the hands. If all the weight of the gun is in the hands, the shotgun is then very responsive to the corrections made by the small muscles of the hands and arms in reaction to impulses sent by the brain. More

Paralympic shooting competition concludes as Americans blaze historic trail
USA Shooting    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Intense competitors, both Eric Hollen and Josh Olson certainly desired better results in the end. But as the shooting competition came to a close at the 2012 Paralympic Games and the Royal Artillery Barracks, success can't be measured by medals alone. Hollen rolled off the line with a 23rd-place finish in the 50-meter Free Pistol event after a round of 499/600. He finished in 14th place in the air pistol event earlier in the Games. More

    .223 vs 5.56: A history
Gun Digest    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
To a whole lot of shooters, ammo is ammo — if it fits, it shoots. These shooters tend to be the guys with seriously tired, worn or even busted firearms. They also tend to focus on the wrong thing; you know, the guy who scrubs the brass marks off his ejector lump, at least until one day his rifle stops working or breaks into many pieces. More

    Bear-ly elk hunting
North Texas e-News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Luke Clayton: The elk hunter I was guiding was well concealed in the brush, about 25 yards from one of the only water sourced within a couple miles. Elk were coming in to drink and wallow during the last hour or so of daylight each day on a regular basis. I was positioned on a steep slope across the pond from the hunter with camera, my Zeiss binoculars, cow call and bull elk bugle. More
