Fox News    Share    Share on
FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Lawmakers are considering a House bill that would give Americans who hold permits to carry firearms in their home states the right to carry their weapons across state lines. Although many states have entered into voluntary agreements, there is no nationwide framework for honoring permits and licenses uniformly. A bipartisan bill, co-authored by Reps. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., and Heath Shuler, D-N.C., aims to change that. More

Gun store owner had misgivings about ATF sting
Los Angeles Times    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
In the fall of 2009, ATF agents installed a secret phone line and hidden cameras in a ceiling panel and wall at Andre Howard's Lone Wolf gun store. They gave him one basic instruction: Sell guns to every illegal purchaser who walks through the door. For 15 months, Howard did as he was told. To customers with phony IDs or wads of cash he normally would have turned away, he sold pistols, rifles and semiautomatics. More

Migration alert: Good teal opener expected in Louisiana
Ducks Unlimited    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Teal are arriving in south Louisiana, but not in peak numbers by any means. Some seasoned waterfowlers worried that Tropical Storm Lee would scatter teal and make for sparse hunting. Fortunately, birds did not scatter and it seems as if a current cold front up north may be pushing more teal into our area. We expect a good opening teal weekend depending in the area, with all areas seeing more birds in the next few weeks. More

Bow hunting-only ranches offer more affordable hunting
Lone Star Outdoor News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Brushy Creek Ranch owner Pete Denney decided years ago on a simple philosophy — be a lean and mean bowhunting-only operation that keeps costs low and lets hunters hunt. That philosophy has worked, especially charging clients only a daily fee to hunt regardless of what they kill, instead of a trophy fee determined by the size of the animal. More

How to adjust adjustable triggers
American Rifleman    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A steady position, aiming, breath control and trigger control are the four basic rifle marksmanship fundamentals.
