The 2012 Junior Olympic Shotgun Team application is now available for download. The Junior Olympic Team is an excellent stepping stone on the path to becoming a USA Shooting Team Member. All junior shooting athletes are encouraged to apply. The deadline for the application is Friday, Dec. 9. More

Attorney General Eric Holder scolded The Daily Caller's reporting on the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal shortly after government officials and reporters heard him admonish Americans for funding gun-runners. It's fitting that a spectacular new book from the NRA's National Firearms Museum is entitled The Illustrated History of Firearms (rather than An Illustrated History) because of the way it so completely and skillfully spans all truly important firearm milestones within a single, practical volume. Persons within the Department of Justice whose identities are not yet publicly known apparently broke the law by leaking firearms trace data to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, which she introduced in the Senate Judiciary Committee record in the hearing on Department of Justice oversight earlier this month. More

On Dec. 6, the North American Wetlands Conservation Council will meet to review grant proposals that aim to protect vital waterfowl habitat across the nation. TPWD wants more research before issuing mule deer program permits

Trapping wild mule deer and mating them with prime breeder stock was approved this year by the Texas Legislature, but some landowners are frustrated they can't do that sooner than they had hoped. Senate Bill 460, signed into law last summer, extends the successful "deer management permit" program for white-tailed deer to mule deer. More
