FAA shuts down 149 air traffic towers

The Federal Aviation Administration has announced plans to close 149 air traffic control towers to make its sequestration budget cuts. Prior to the implementation of the sequester, the FAA warned that the $85 billion cut to 2013 federal spending levels could result in the closing of 189 flight towers across the U.S., as well as furloughs for air traffic controllers.

U.S. Travel celebrates record IPW, announces host cities

If its IPW marketplace is any indicator, the U.S. travel industry is officially over the recession, according to the U.S. Travel Association, which recently announced record attendance at the annual event. "After a dip during the recent recession, America's travel industry is back with great strength," U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow said in a statement.
