The do's and don'ts of buying used lift trucks
    DC Velocity
A showroom full of shiny new lift trucks is alluring. It's hard to resist the display models' sleek designs, high-tech features, and glossy paint jobs. For some buyers, though, a brand-new truck is more than they need; the latest model may be too expensive or "overqualified" for the particular job at hand. In those circumstances, a used lift truck might be a better choice. When should you consider buying a used truck rather than a new one? And how do you make sure you're getting what you need at the right price?

Wolfe surveyed over 50 shippers a couple of weeks ago about current truckload capacity conditions.

Let your team help you manage your time
    Harvard Business Review
Good managers study time management techniques. They analyze their calendars and prioritize their to-do lists in an effort to eke out a few percentage points of extra personal productivity — which is all to the good. Great managers, by contrast, realize a fundamental fact: their time, not budget or staffing levels, is their scarcest resource and their team must be staffed and organized in a way that will maximize their own, personal impact.

Why leaders need to shut up and listen
    By C. Fredrick Crum
Typically, we choose our leaders for their skill at conveying messages clearly and powerfully. But it's their ability to listen that distinguishes great leaders from the rest. We often attribute courage and strength to the speaker, but what about the listener? The art of listening is a leadership strength that is often greatly underdeveloped. Some leaders "hear," others use communication techniques to make others believe they are listening, while few leaders actually have listening skills and abilities.
