Most OEMs mismanage supply chain talent

With 91 percent of companies acknowledging that they could manage their supply chain talent more efficiently, there is clear room for improvement. But it's not always a simple fix. Despite nearly 50 percent of CEOs citing that talent, knowledge and availability is one of their top three business woes, 61 percent admitted that they hadn't made any steps to resolving this issue, even though it typically takes around five months to fill a high level position.

New overtime rule could affect up to 5 million workers

A proposed new rule governing overtime pay will mean bigger paychecks for up to 5 million workers, Obama administration officials said June 30. The change "goes to the heart of what it means to be middle class in America," said Labor Secretary Thomas Perez. Business groups and congressional Republicans said the proposal would force employers to reduce overtime hours and perhaps cut the number of workers.

Survey: People the biggest supply chain challenge in next 10 years

A survey of 620 executives from around the globe by SCM World looked at concerns and perceived challenges about natural resources including water, energy, land, materials and minerals, and people, and their impact on the supply chain.
