    SupplyChainBrain
Think of Internet commerce as the modern day wolf, and traditional retailers as the pig who thought he was immune to his adversary's huffing and puffing. The coming US logistics cost crack-up?
    Supply Chain Digest
Dan Gilmore writes for Supply Chain Digest: "Earlier this year, at the NASSTRAC conference in Orlando, Florida, it suddenly struck me that in the midst of a relatively benign U.S. logistics cost environment, we are just a few events away from a major rise in the cost to ship goods here. I've held off on sharing my thoughts until now, as I gathered some facts. Am I way off base, or should shippers be concerned about a very sharp rise in rates over the next three years?"

Some of these indicators point to things improving and signs of better times ahead, while others signal that men and women are still very much embedded in the recessionary-induced malaise and are likely to be there for quite a while more.
