Bighorns could be moved to California Catalina Mountains
Arizona Daily Star
Bighorn sheep could once more roam California's Catalina Mountains — possibly as soon as fall 2013. Preliminary plans call for "bringing sheep from Southwestern Arizona and putting them into the Catalinas," where the last remnants of a native bighorn herd died out about a decade ago, said Jim Heffelfinger, regional game specialist with the Arizona Game and Fish Department. The hope this time is that changes to the landscape brought on by wildfires and more genetically diverse herds could help with their long-term survival.

NRA charges Obama's efforts will lead to gun confiscation
CNN
The National Rifle Association will assert that President Barack Obama's attempt to enact new gun control laws will result in the "confiscation" of people's firearms in a new web video scheduled to run in five states and the District of Columbia. The video went online around the time Obama began delivering his State of the Union address. In the speech, Obama mentioned his effort to reduce gun violence through legislative means.

State of the Union intensifies gun fight
Roll Call
The passion of gun owners has met the passion of protective moms in the fight over firearms restrictions, which intensified as President Barack Obama delivered his State of the Union address. Against all odds, a coalition that includes suburban moms, religious leaders, mayors and long-embattled gun safety lobbyists has set out to neutralize the grass-roots power of the 4.5 million-member National Rifle Association. It's a tall order, but gun safety groups say they've drawn money and members since the December mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Olympic Arms to New York state — Take your business elsewhere
Ammo Land
Olympic Arms is a staunch believer in and defender of the Constitution of the United States, and with special attention paid to the Bill of Rights that succinctly enumerates the security of our divinely given rights. One of those rights is that to keep and bear arms. Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the state of New York, any law enforcement departments, law enforcement officers, first responders within the state of New York, or any New York state government entity or employee of such an entity — will no longer be served as customers.

Keys to being a responsible gun owner
Guns & Ammo
There's no need to dig into the specifics of this latest swing of the political pendulum because it's the same story as before. A criminal has harmed and killed innocent people with firearms. Therefore, those in power must "do something" about it right now. And, as in the past, rather than pursuing criminal prosecutions and enforcing existing laws, politicians and lobbyists are blaming the Average Joes and the types of guns they choose to own.
