'Gun Owners Support Starbucks Day' mixes coffee and Second Amendment rights
Time Magazine
Why are gun owners such big fans of Starbucks? The coffee giant is pretty tolerant about gun owners, and its open-carry policy allows customers with firearms to enter its stores like any other customer. As long as you're abiding by local laws, your right to bear arms and your right to a skinny cinnamon dolce latte (no whip, no foam) are guaranteed.

Ammo shortage hits shooters, retailers
Sullivan Journal
It's the form of gun control that few people saw coming. No ammo. At least, certain types of ammunition has become extremely hard to find and very expensive when it surfaces. The hunt for 9mm, .22-caliber, .380 and a few other popular bullets intensified after the Obama administration resurrected the gun control debate following the November election and Sandy Hook Elementary massacre in December.

Firearms equality movement gaining momentum
Ammo Land
The newly emerged Firearms Equality Movement is gaining more steam among manufactures and gun rights supporters alike. The firearms industry, in reaction to the governor of New York ramming through the NY SAFE Act which banned AR-15 style rifles, has seen multiple manufactures revise their firearms sales polices to restrict LEO and Police Agencies from only buying the same level of firepower as is allowed for the average citizen of their state.

Record bids help all bighorn hunters
The Spokesman-Review
A hunter from Utah has raised the value of big-game hunting with a record bid of $480,000 for a special Montana bighorn sheep permit. Selling coveted bighorn tags to the rich generates fallout from some hunters who’ve failed for decades to get a permit the regular-guy way — in a lottery drawing. On the other hand, big bids for bighorns are a windfall for state wildlife biologists struggling to curb wild sheep woes. The annual auctions for tags offered by Montana and other states, tribes and provinces were held at the 2013 Wild Sheep Foundation Convention and Sporting Expo, Jan. 31-Feb. 2, in Reno, Nev.

Learning about bighorn sheep
Scottsbluff Star Herald
Nebraska's bighorn sheep are high-elevation critters. They hang out on the rocky slopes and pinnacles of the Pine Ridge and Wildcat Hills of western Nebraska. Nine bighorns experienced the difference between elevation and altitude when they were captured, blindfolded, bagged and flown over the buttes they call home at Fort Robinson State Park, swinging in a sling beneath a helicopter.

Arizona wildlife tech stalks the master of stealth
The Associated Press via Beaumont Enterprise
Heather Heimann makes her living in pursuit of a ghost in the Black Mountains of Arizona — the mountain lion — recording observations and collecting evidence like a modern-day Sherlock Holmes. She is a wildlife technician working for the Arizona Game and Fish Department, conducting a study of mountain lions in the mountains west of Kingman, Ariz. This mountain range is home to the largest herd of desert bighorn sheep in the country. These wild sheep have experienced declines in recent years and biologists are studying impacts to the herd, including factors such as predation.
