Healthcare Finance News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article

Perhaps a patient no longer needs to repeat to many providers over a lifetime that it was the left arm that was fractured. As patients grow older, it's important that the details of their medical histories are stored somewhere other than in memory. Kaiser Health News    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Despite several years of concerted efforts, hospital readmission rates aren't dropping, the latest Medicare data show. Readmissions cost Medicare $17.5 billion in inpatient spending, with nearly 10 million Mediciare beneficiaries readmitted within 30 days for any cause, a rate of nearly one in five Medicare patients who enter a hospital.
