BOG Society Members: Ensure You Are Represented at the 2009 Annual Meeting!
As a BOG Governor, Legislative Representative, or Public Relations Representative, you play a unique and critical role in helping the AAO-HNS Board of Governors achieve success. All BOG societies are strongly encouraged to have at least one BOG representative attend all scheduled meetings of the BOG. BOG societies are required to attend at least one of every three BOG meeting to remain in good standing with the AAO-HNS. Update on Telemedicine Funding
The U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Commerce have released a joint Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA) for grants under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, deadline, August 14, 2009.     AAO-HNSF/ANS Present Hands-On Hearing and Balance Workshops! Register Open!
    This year’s hands-on workshops, Hands-on Audiometrics for the Practitioner and Hands-on Evaluation of the Dizzy Patient, will be held Saturday, October 3, at the San Diego Convention Center in conjunction with the 2009 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO.     Annual Meeting Papers Deadline Set
    It is mandatory that all papers presented at the Scientific/Research sessions of the AAO-HNSF 2009 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO be submitted online to Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery no later than September 10, 2009, through Editorial Manager (EM). Authors of poster presentations and miniseminars are also encouraged to submit their papers to the Journal at any time, through Editorial Manager (EM).

    Academy Sends Letter to CMS Regarding the RACs

    Position Statement on Balloon Catheter Dilation Sunsetted
    On July 8, 2009, the Academy’s Executive Committee approved sunsetting a previously approved policy statement on sinus balloon catheterization. Hence, this policy statement is no longer valid and it has been removed from the Academy’s website. Currently, the Rhinology and Paranasal Sinus Committee is working to update this policy statement.
