Peroneal tendinopathy is an uncommon but underappreciated source of lateral hindfoot pain and dysfunction. There is a paucity of literature describing optimal intervention for those suffering with pain secondary to peroneal tendinopathy. The purpose of this case report is to describe the evaluation and treatment incorporating manual therapy and therapeutic exercise for a patient diagnosed with peroneal tendinopathy.

Effects of tailored neck-shoulder pain treatment based on a decision model guided by clinical assessments, standardized functional tests

A major problem with rehabilitation interventions for neck pain is that the condition may have multiple causes, thus a single treatment approach is seldom efficient. The present study protocol outlines a single blinded randomized controlled trial evaluating the effect of tailored treatment for neck-shoulder pain. An extensive presentation of the tests and treatment decision model is provided. The main treatment components are manual therapy, cranio-cervical flexion exercise and strength training, EMG-biofeedback training, treatment for cervicogenic headache and neck motor control training.

Case report: Physiotherapy strategies for a woman with symphysis pubis diastasis occurring during labor

The prevalence of symphysis pubis diastasis associated with labor is very low. Mild separation of the symphysis pubis may be physiological, without any specific symptoms, but a diastasis of more than 10-mm should be regarded as pathological. SPD is usually associated with discomfort in the pelvis and upper thigh, leading to difficulty in walking. This case report demonstrates a therapeutic exercise program as a noninvasive functional treatment for SPD and reports its results.

Manual therapies for cervicogenic headache

This paper systematically reviewed randomized clinical trials assessing the efficacy of manual therapies for cervicogenic headache. A total of seven RCTs were identified, i.e. one study applied physiotherapy ± temporomadibular mobilization techniques and six studies applied cervical spinal manipulative therapy.
