A Weekly News and Information Resource for Airport Development Experts
Welcome to 2015!
We are excited about a year of new opportunities for ACC, its members and the industry as a whole. Our primary goal will be to work with industry partners towards an FAA reauthorization bill that lays the groundwork for a well-funded, efficient, and modern national airport system. However, we will also continue to focus on enhancing the networking between industry experts that makes ACC a unique organization, and provide professional development for members of all levels of aviation expertise through a number of ACC events.
I look forward to working with Carol Lurie from VHB, who is the 2015 ACC Board of Directors chair, in implementing her key goals of increasing the stature of ACC within the transportation community and also developing our industry’s “next gen” of young professionals through providing professional training and networking.
Please be sure to sign up for the upcoming 2015 Airport Planning, Design Construction Symposium in Denver on February 18-20, which will offer highly technical content for airport professionals of all disciplines and experience levels. The preeminent technical event in the industry, the symposium will feature 25 unique workshops with more 80 presentations, ‘open mic’ sessions with FAA and TSA, and keynote addresses from industry leaders. I hope you plan to join us in Denver or at any of our other events throughout the year.
I encourage you to become involved (and get your colleagues involved) in the organization – join a committee or use your expertise on an event session panel – and join in the important work we will be undertaking in 2015.
We look forward to working with you in the coming year!

The Airports United Coalition, which ACC has joined as a Beyond the Runway partner, reached out to leaders of House and Senate transportation committees to address two key FAA reauthorization issues - the passenger facility charge (PFC) and the airport improvement grant program.
