Feds throw cold water on GOP air traffic control privatization plan
The Hill
Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx threw cold water on a Republican plan to privatize large portions of the nation's air traffic control system. House Transportation Committee Chairman Bill Shuster, R-Pennsylvania, is expected to call for the creation of a new nongovernmental agency that would take over air traffic control from the Federal Aviation Administration in a forthcoming funding bill for the agency.

Call for session topics and moderators for the 2016 Airport Symposium

Don't miss the opportunity to submit session topic and moderator suggestions for the 2016 ACC/AAAE Airport Planning, Design & Construction Symposium. The Symposium will take place March 2-4, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will feature Plenary Sessions for all participants and Concurrent Workshops including the following technical tracks: Planning; Terminal/Landside; Engineering/Airside; PM/CM; and three mini-tracks on Global Innovations, Diversity and Finance. Sessions will include topics covering sustainability, IT, security, recent ACRP studies and reports, and sessions relevant to airport Young Professionals. If you haven't already submitted a survey and you have a great idea or are interested in helping to lead a session, make sure to submit your feedback no later than the July 31 deadline, and please feel free to submit more than one survey. Note that the submission of a topic or moderator does not ensure an agenda slot.
