Viva el Airport Consultants Council — A message from ACC Board Member David Kipp
Poor David's Almanack
Most professionals have a professional or trade association. The American Medical Association for physicians, the National Society of Professional Engineers for consulting engineers, and so on. These associations undertake a variety of roles, not least being the promotion of professional standards and the exchange of ideas and developments in a particular field of knowledge. The premier association for professionals involved in airport development is the Airport Consultants Council, with which I have been involved for a great many years in a great many capacities.

Federal Business Opportunities
On Tuesday, August 25, the TSA issued the revised Planning Guidelines and Design Standards for Checked Baggage Inspection Systems (PGDS) Version 5.0 on fedbizops. Based on feedback from the industry, the PGDS has now been formatted to differentiate requirements from best practices with a focus on system performance. Requirements tables can now be found at the beginning of each chapter and the statements themselves have been underlined in the text. The TSA welcomes comments to the PGDS Version 5.0 from industry stakeholders and will continue to coordinate with the aviation industry to periodically update the PGDS.
