Partisan gridlock threatens aviation funding
The Hill
Transportation advocates are worried that aviation funding will become the next congressional standoff after several rounds of partisan budget fights in the nation’s capital. The Federal Aviation Administration’s funding bill, which was last approved in 2012, is scheduled to expire in 2015. Lawmakers in both parties say that renewing the FAA’s funding will be a priority next year, but Congress has been mired in a debate about road and transit funding for most of the year that could cause turbulence down the line for the aviation industry.

Small Community Air Service
September 16 | 12:30 – 2 p.m.
Due to a number of factors including the overall economic recession, fuel costs, airline bankruptcies and consolidation, and new rules on pilot training and rest, air service to many of our nation's small communities is in jeopardy. According to a report release by the Government Accountability Office in April of this year, from 2007 to 2013 small hub airports have seen a 20.1% decrease in flights and non-hubs have seen a 18.1% decrease. That all compares to only a 9.1% decrease at large hub airports over the same time period. Hear the latest trends and more importantly, what airports and communities are doing to save air service at this ACC Institute webinar.
