Skeptical lawmakers call for shakeup at FAA

Facing "growing skepticism" among the aviation community about the FAA's ability to successfully modernize the nation's airspace, two top lawmakers are calling for reforms that could spark significant changes to the agency's organizational structure. Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster, R-Pennsylvania and Aviation Subcommittee Chairman Frank LoBiondo, D-New Jersey, issued a call for reform at the FAA after a scathing Department of Transportation Inspector General report questioned the agency's progress on ADS-B implementation.

The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) will host the first-ever ACC Small Firm Workshop on Monday, November 10, 2014, in conjunction with the 36th Annual ACC Annual Conference and Exhibition. This workshop will offer the senior leadership of firms with fewer than 100 employees an opportunity to gather and share lessons learned and best practices relating to the day-to-day operation of companies. The workshop will be facilitated by Dan Purvine of A/E Clarity, who will lead roundtable, interactive discussions on operational challenges and solutions for small companies.
