More Testing Sites Now Available for ACM™ Certification Candidates
A third-party partner of ACMA has bolstered its available services for those seeking ACM™ certification after a recent merger. PSI Services LLC (PSI) — a professional testing services provider — has acquired Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. (AMP) in an effort for the computer-based certification services business to expand their combined assessment solutions and services globally. What this means for case management professionals is there will be much more flexibility in taking the ACM™ Certification Exam. Before the merger, partners of ACMA were able to offer 185 testing sites. That number has nearly doubled, as now there are more than 300 locations to take the exam. Candidates will likely find a testing site closer to their desired location, and a majority of these sites are now open every Saturday as well. Candidates who have existing testing appointments will see no change, as they'll continue to test at their scheduled time and location. For more information about this and ACM™ Certification, email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to apply to take the exam, click here.

Leaked ACA Replacement Draft Would Bring Major Changes To Medicaid, Individual Exchanges
A newly leaked Affordable Care Act repeal bill would gut many of the law's individual market reforms, significantly change how Medicaid is funded and limit tax breaks on employer-based health plans.
The draft House bill, obtained by Politico, could change as it moves through committees and when it is evaluated by the Congressional Budget Office. However, its contents offer a substantive look at how the GOP plans to rework healthcare policy.
Safety Net Hospitals Worry About Post-Reform Patient Influx
Little surprises Lynda Sutherland, who has been a licensed vocational nurse for 35 years at San Mateo Medical Center. But in the past few years, Sutherland said, she's been surprised by what's missing: the patients who used to return again and again to the public hospital for the same ailments.
"They're just not coming back," she said.
Spurred by the Affordable Care Act, medical centers like this one have overhauled the way they deliver care in an effort to keep patients healthier and out of hospital beds.
Hospitals, Both Rural And Urban, Dread Losing Ground With Health Law Repeal
Kaiser Health News
Commuting past the barren winter fields in northern Illinois, Cathie Chapman worries about the future.
More than a year ago, she lost her job at a nearby rural hospital after it closed and, as Republicans work to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, wonders whether she'll soon be out of work again.
"Many of my friends did not find jobs they love," she said. "They're working for less money or only part time. Some haven't found any jobs yet, even after a year."
Healthgrades Names 100 Top Hospitals For 2017; See The List
Healthgrades has released its list of America's 50 and 100 Best Hospitals for 2017 for demonstrating what the organization calls "superior clinical outcomes" across the majority of common inpatient conditions and procedures for at least three consecutive years.
Healthgrades research revealed that America's Best Hospitals also outperform their peers in treating a core group of conditions that account for more than 80 percent of mortalities in areas evaluated by the group, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke.
Making Sense of the Political Conflict Surrounding Healthcare
By Christina Thielst
There are significant risks to crafting new legislation without bipartisan support. Former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare legislation — the Affordable Care Act — did not have bipartisan support, but it was passed when Democrats controlled the federal government. Now that power has swung to the Republican Party, we expect changes to this legislation. President Donald Trump and his administration have given some early signs of what we can expect.
