FDA kicks off the 'Year of the Food Safety Modernization Act'

On the first day of its "FSMA Kickoff Meeting," FDA officials gave stakeholders an update on key components of the new law, declaring 2015 "the year of FSMA."

Inventure Foods Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of certain varieties of its Fresh Frozen™ line of frozen vegetables as well as select varieties of its Jamba "At Home" line of smoothie kits after finding Listeria monocytogenes, in its Jefferson, Georgia, facility.

Chicken patties recalled from restaurants after consumers find plastic bits

Utah-based West Liberty Foods is recalling approximately 34,075 pounds of grilled chicken breast products that were shipped to restaurants in Illinois, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Nebraska and Texas after consumers reported finding plastic bits in the food.
