    Dawn Food to close California plant in June

    Company recalls frozen tempeh amid Salmonella outbreak

    An Asheville, N.C., food maker has issued a voluntary recall of a product amid an outbreak of Salmonella infections related to Buncombe County. On Monday, health officials said they are investigating 34 infections of bacteria called Salmonella paratyphi B. Blue Ridge Food Ventures said in a release that Smiling Hara, which makes tempeh at its facility, is under investigation as a possible cause of the outbreak. More
