Sprinklers installed during recent renovations put out a small fire in a laundry area at The Cheshire hotel, Chief Kerry Hogan of the Richmond Heights, Mo., Fire Department said. A bin containing dirty mop heads and rags apparently caught fire in a laundry room located in the lower level of the hotel's parking structure, Hogan said.More

Two fires were quickly extinguished in Yuma, Ariz., thanks to quick actions and an automatic fire sprinkler system. In the first fire, Yuma firefighters responded to a report of an alarm sounding and the smell of smoke at an apartment complex. The fire, however, had been contained and extinguished by the building's automatic fire sprinkler system before firefighters arrived on scene.More
