Lauretti. But there would have been minimal damage had there been sprinklers in the school. That's why hours after the fire, students. parents and staff began asking the question: why no sprinklers? from Timmins Daily Press – Jan. 26, 2009
Timmins, Ontario, fire prevention officer Denis Lebrun says it's like having a fireman on your property all the time. He calls it simply perfect. "It's the greatest thing," he said. "You can't beat them. It reduces smoke content quite a bit and reduces the spread of smoke so it's a big lifesaver and confines the fire to that one area." Lebrun is talking about sprinkler systems. The province has recently been under attack after two people were killed in a nursing home in Orillia, Ontario. The privately run facility did not have sprinklers. More
