Sprinklers Do Their Job in Georgia Hotel Fire from WALB – June 19, 2009
An Albany hotel's sprinkler system worked well when a room caught fire. Firefighters say there was a short in the wiring on a table lamp after the bed frame pinched the cord, which started the fire. Fortunately, the fire was put out even before firefighters got there because of the hotel's sprinkler system.

Golf Club Fire Contained in Arizona
from AZ Central – June 23, 2009 Firefighters kept the Western Skies Golf Club in Gilbert, Ariz., from going in flames after a kitchen fire, said Gilbert Fire spokesman Mike Connor. The fire set off the sprinkler system, which helped keep the fire in check until the first fire unit arrived on scene. The fire crews were then able to knock down the fire quickly and keep it contained to the kitchen, Connor said. There were no injuries. More
