A fire started at Tech Advanced Materials.The business uses acetone, a highly flammable substance, in metal materials, said South Salt Lake Fire Chief Steve Foote. Sprinkler Extinguishes South Carolina Rug and Home Store Fire

Cherokee County firefighters responded to a fire at the Rug and Home store in Gaffney, S.C. The sprinkler system put the fire out before fire crews even arrived. The store's manager said there is about $1 million worth of rugs and furniture on hold for customers, but he said none of it was damaged. More

Alabama Mill Fire Kept in Check by Sprinklers

No one was injured after a fire broke out at the Norman W. Paschall Co. utilization facility in Valley, Ala. Byron Pigg, chief of the East Alabama Fire District, said they responded shortly after the call and found a machine and raw materials near the machine on fire. Pigg said the building’s sprinkler system had turned on and kept the fire under control until firefighters could extinguish it completely. More
