Fire extinguished at Georgia-Pacific mill in Washington

A recent fire at Georgia-Pacific mill in downtown Camas, Wash., brought more than 20 firefighters to the paper mill. The fire was in ductwork between a hopper and the No. 11 paper machine, said acting Capt. Paul Bennett of the fire department. The sprinkler system activated and employees used hoses on the area. Fire crews were called to the Extended Stay Inn in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Upon their arrival they found occupants evacuating and thick smoke emanating from a room on the third floor. Once inside the room, firefighters said they discovered that a fire sprinkler had activated, keeping the fire in check. Firefighters credited the sprinkler for preventing flames from spreading and causing more significant damage. More
