GM believes that it will sell 2 million vehicles in the Chinese car market this year. The head of the car company's Chinese unit told Bloomberg that the figure is well ahead of its previous forecasts. Last year, the No.1 U.S. carmaker sold 1.83 million units in China, up 67 percent from 2008. Volkswagen and GM are the two largest foreign car companies in that country. According to a new report from The Freedonia Group Inc., a Cleveland based industry research firm, in 2013 the annual market for wind turbine systems in China is forecast to be 62.3 billion yen. This annual increase of 5.3 percent will be driven by a variety of factors, primary among them government policies that encourage the use of renewable and nonpolluting electric power sources such as wind. Such policies include favorable pricing of wind power generated from wind farms, tax incentives and subsidies. More |
