Rio Tinto to Resume Argyle Diamond Mine Expansion Next Year

Rio Tinto Group, the world’s third- largest mining company, will resume work on a $1.5 billion expansion of its Argyle diamond mine next year as global jewelry demand recovers. Rio's Argyle mine supplies 90 percent of the world’s pink diamonds, used exclusively for jewelry. Those gems account for just 1 percent of total production at the mine.
