Linka: the world's first auto unlocking smart lock for bikes
It might look like one half of a pair of handcuffs, but this is a smart lock for bikes. It's called Linka, and it has all sorts of ways of protecting your ride. For starters, it immobilises your bike — press the button, and a 9 mm hardened square steel ring slides into place, stopping your wheel from turning. It syncs to your smartphone over Bluetooth, and automatically unlocks as you approach. Or you can enter a four-digit PIN.

Noki is a smart lock designed for European locks
We've seen a few smart locks, but so far they've failed to take off. Noki is designed for Europe, however, making it stand out from the mass of U.S.-centric models. It fits on locks with E.U. cylinders, and can be easily installed on top of your existing lock — you don't have to remove or replace anything. It takes just a few minutes to get up and running. Then you can open and lock your door using your smartphone, keeping your key and your phone in your pocket. Thanks to Bluetooth, it knows when you're approaching your house and automatically unlocks, so you can walk straight in.

You can learn from these 4 examples of excellent customer service
By Benoit Gruber
Think about a time when you received amazing customer service. Now think about how rare it was that you experienced that level of customer service. In this day of social media and the omnipresent "review" of businesses and services, you would think companies would do their best to provide top-notch customer service at every turn. Yet it's surprising how few companies really take the time and effort to provide outstanding customer service that will increase customer loyalty.

People join good companies but quit bad managers
By Greg L. Alston
I'm constantly amazed by how people who are charged with managing people try to make life much more complex and difficult than it needs to be. When people join a new company, they are usually excited by the new opportunities and believe in the vision of the organization. They choose the job based on the best fit with their world view. While the compensation plan is certainly one component of why people choose to work for you, it is rarely an element that determines whether they remain working for you.
