 Technology

Would you like to make life and your business operation much easier for yourself? Of course you would! That's why it's important to provide clients and collection partners with the best possible technology that will make the receiving, handling and reporting of claims as seamless as possible. They value that service.

ALQ has made a concerted effort to do just that for its forwarders. Our website uses state-of-the-art technology to allow you to easily search our network of attorneys and place your accounts for legal services. You can search law firms alphabetically, geographically, by zipcode and/or specialty fields of law. The attorney listings are updated continuously and contain details not included in the printed version of ALQ, such as individuals to contact, counties, states or countries covered and other areas of law practiced.

Our website contains a fully functioning electronic forwarding program with automatic bonding notification to ALQ. Also available on our website are tools to aid in the collection process, such as a summary of collection laws — both U.S. and International; the CLLA Operative Guides; Bankruptcy Court and Secretary of State information; industry resources; a calendar of industry events; a glossary of legal collection terms; links to industry-related websites and much more.

Have you visited our website lately? If not, we urge you to do so today: www.alqlist.com

Lien stripping: Should a debtor's eligibility for a discharge be a factor?
Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA
Anyone who practices bankruptcy is familiar with Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and most likely Chapter 11, but what about a Chapter 20? To some, the question is whether a Chapter 20 bankruptcy is part of the bankruptcy code? The answer is — not technically, but a Chapter 20 bankruptcy does exist. A Chapter 20 is when a debtor files a Chapter 7, receives a discharge and then proceeds to file a Chapter 13 in an effort to strip a wholly unsecured mortgage lien.

Corporate Counsel (subscription required)
Employers often adopt certain employment policies to include in their employee handbooks that have been taken verbatim from other sources. In some instances, employers adopt an entire employee handbook based on a sample found on the Internet. Much like different business operations and models, however, employee handbooks are not intended to be one-size-fits-all.

What our clients have to say:
ALQ has been a great asset to our company. We have been in partnership with ALQ for over 100 years and rely on the ALQ directory to provide us with attorneys who specialize in all aspects of commercial collection. Definitely the premier referral list in the industry.

— Yuri Rosa, Legal Forwarder, Lyon Collection Services Inc., New York, New York

After a long day of traveling to conferences I attend across the country, I always see Tom and Nancy or Jeremy smiling at me from across the room at the opening cocktail reception. It is so refreshing to have a friend after the hustle and bustle of the airport. As I make my way to greet them, it is always warm and inviting and without hesitation they make a point of introducing me to whomever they are talking to at the time. Through ALQ I not only have developed new clients, but have also made new friends.
