We encourage ALQ listees to forward among themselves. In fact, we’ve witnessed a substantial increase in forwarding between ALQ listees. When you place a claim with a fellow listee, we ask that you consider the following:

•    When sending a case out, notify us within 30 days of employment that you’ve sent a case to an ALQ listee. This entitles you to comprehensive fidelity insurance coverage of up to $3.5 million underwritten by Chubb Insurance Group. It’s easy to forget this step, which activates this insurance program for your own placements. (If you forward claims through www.alqlist.com your claim is automatically registered for ALQ bonding coverage.)

•    Notify the receiving law firm that their name was selected from the American Lawyers Quarterly (ALQ).

When sending a case to a fellow ALQ listee, let the firm know that you, too, are a listee and available for reciprocal work. (It’s easier to ask another law firm for work when you’re giving them work.)

Court's restrictive interpretation to the right of insurers to avoid compensating 3rd parties in cases of cancellation of policy
By Dr. Christine Calleja

This interpretation in effect nullifies the effect of article 10 (3) and if upheld by the Court of Appeal would cause significant repercussions in the Maltese insurance market.
