American Supply Association
The American Supply Association (ASA) is proud to announce it will serve as a voting member in the development of NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code) and NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code). Hugo Aguilar, P.E., ASA's Director of Codes and Standards, has been appointed to represent ASA as a full committee voting member for these codes. ASA understands that the provisions in NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 can potentially affect the interest of its members. NFPA 54 can affect members of the plumbing and HVAC industry; and NFPA 58 can affect members of the PVF industry. ASA is committed to participating in the development of these codes and bettering an industry, which protects the public's health and welfare. More

Signs Encourage Renewed Investment in U.S. Mining
ASA Advisor©
According to ITR Economics, U.S. industrial production, which comprises mining, manufacturing and utilities, transitioned to a tentative recovery trend in November after having been declining since August, 2015, in the face of weak demand for electricity and ongoing price shocks related to the mining sector. Early signs of recovery are a long-awaited signal of health in the overall U.S. economy and support analysts’ expectation of 2017 being a growth year. Oversupply in the oil market will keep the rise in crude prices relatively mild, and ASA's analysts' expect mining activity to be below the year-ago level through mid-2017. Rising economic activity, both domestic and in major emerging markets, will help drive rising prices and encourage renewed investment in this segment of the economy.
