Young Execs Volunteer at Operation Rise & Conquer
American Supply Association
Last week, Rogers Earl Jr. (YE Chairman, Valley Supply Co.), Chris Reynolds (YE Officers Council, Plumbers & Factory Supplies), and Bill Erfort (YE Staff Liaison, ASA) went to Crested Butte, Colorado to visit and volunteer with Operation Rise & Conquer and the Adaptive Sports Center. After seeing the program first-hand, Rogers Earl Jr. said, “During our visit, we were able to see the programs & facilities, qualified & friendly staff, and most importantly, the participating military. Volunteering with the veterans and experiencing how this program positively affects their confidence and morale further backs up our support.” Over the course of roughly 3 days of programming, the Young Execs were able to assist a group of U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps. Veterans participate in snow-based activities including skiing, snowboarding, and a day of ice climbing. PICTURES FROM VISITMore

Woe is Me: China's Economic Reversal
ASA Materials Market Digest©
It's all about supply and demand. Who knows whether China can get back in gear anytime soon? Undoubtedly, it'd lead to a flip side of the supply versus demand picture. With demand curtailed, commodities' supply needs to respond, and that is what is happening around the globe. Oil giants Chevron and ConocoPhillips recently said they will cut capital spending next year by about a quarter and other foreign oil firms also announced large cuts. Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., an energy-focused investment bank, said that about 15.0 percent of total global oil output has been delayed. Master Distributors Move Forward Despite Challenges
Supply House Times
The role of the master distributor in the PHCP-PVF supply chain is continuously changing. But when it comes to recent successes on the balance sheets, master distributors have two different narratives depending on the products stocked in their warehouses and markets they serve. Masters in the plumbing, heating, cooling and bath-and-kitchen realms are seeing improving conditions, while some tied to the industrial pipe, valves and fittings space, particularly those dealing in the oil and gas patch, are in the midst of what can best be called a challenging period. Two of the Fastest Growing Groups in ASA
American Supply Association
In 2015, ASA's Women in Industry (WII) and Young Executives (YE) Divisions reached new heights. Attendance for both the WII and YE Division Spring Conferences shattered previous year’s records. The divisions continue to be ASA’s fastest growing and the "buzz" of the industry. Women In Industry gives an opportunity to make unique connections with those involved in similar experiences and career paths, as well as learn skills in order to reach and "go beyond" their potential. The Young Executives provide a forum for the industry’s future leaders to build key relationships and to work together. Plan on attending the Women In Industry Spring Conference (April 27-29 in Chicago) and the YE Spring Forum (May23-25 in Memphis).More
