ASA, Business Leaders to Congress 'Pass this bill TODAY'

As the House scrambles to reach the necessary votes required to pass the American Health Care Act, business groups are lining up in support of ending the status quo. That’s why ASA joined with leaders in the business community to call on Congress to pass the bill today. As our letter states, “The current health care system of this country under the ACA is not working and is in need of serious and deep reforms. We support the legislation which has passed through the House’s three committees as it attempts to address these problems through many provisions including those which alleviate burdens and reduce taxes on employers and others who operate within the health care sectors.” More

Southern Wholesalers Report Strongest Gains in Total Dollar Sales for February

ASA’s Monthly Pulse Report provides a regular snapshot of performance for the PHCP-PVF industry. For the month ending February 28, 2017 wholesaler-distributors reported a median sales increase of 1.9% compared to the same month in 2016. Calendar year-to-date, all respondents reported median sales growth of 6.0%, and the median increase for the trailing twelve months is 3.9%. Inventory rose 4.3% compared to prior year, and the median three-months average days sales outstanding dropped from 45.8 to 44.6 days. Over half (54.8%) of the respondents reported an increase in gross margin percentages for February, 2017 versus 2016, and company YTD profit before taxes increased for 57.8% of the total sample. The percentage of respondents having more Full-Time Equivalent employees compared to a year ago increased from 52.9% in January to 56.0% in February. LEARN MOREMore
