ASA Partners with US Chamber to Hire Heroes
American Supply Association
ASA is in the beginning stages of developing a comprehensive career recruitment site to build our industry's bench. A large part of this strategy is to connect with veterans and transitioning military personnel who are looking to build their careers outside of the military. As a part of this strategy, ASA has become a sponsor of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's nationwide program called Hiring Our Heroes. Their goal is for private industry to hire 500,000 veterans and spouses. "Our pledge was to assist in this goal by trying to place 1000 veterans in jobs within the PHCP/PVF industry," said ASA Executive Vice President Mike Adelizzi. "Instead of recreating the wheel, we have chosen to partner with the U.S. Chamber's Hiring Our Heroes program, which is already halfway to their goal. The US Navy's Role in Corrosion Prevention
By Heather Rhoades
The military often has to work in areas with harsh conditions where the levels of humidity, heat and salt can reduce different kinds of equipment into scattered, corroded parts. While such corrosion can be detected and treated, it is both a difficult and costly affair.
