Beaulieu to Provide Members-Only Industry Forecast April 11

On Thursday, April 11, at 11 a.m. EDT, an ASA members-only industry forecasting webinar will be presented by Alan Beaulieu, President of ITR Economics. Alan is the author of ASA's monthly ASA Advisor forecasting newsletter. This webinar will be the first in a series of two members-only webinars that will be offered in 2013. The Storehouse of World Vision will present its 13th annual Crystal Vision Award at KBIS 2013 later this month in New Orleans. The Storehouse of World Vision is a network of six warehouses that receive donated goods — including building materials, school supplies, personal care items and clothing — from corporate partners and annually distribute them to more than 2.2 million people in low-income communities. The Storehouse's Crystal Vision Award, presented annually to a vendor who has gone above and beyond in their donations and charitable activities, will be presented on Saturday, April 20 as part of KBIS 2013 during a luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. at the Earnest L. US Home Prices Rose In February By Most In 7 Years

U.S. home prices jumped in February by the largest amount in seven years, evidence that the housing recovery strengthened ahead of the all-important spring-buying season. Home prices rose 10.2 percent in February compared with a year earlier, CoreLogic, a real estate data provider said. The annual gain was the biggest since March 2006. Prices have now increased on an annual basis for 12 straight months, underscoring the recovery's steady momentum.More

US Construction Up 1.2 Percent In February

Spending on U.S. construction projects rebounded in February, helped by a surge in home construction, which rose to the highest level in more than four years. The Commerce Department says construction spending rose 1.2 percent in February, compared to January, when construction had dropped 2.1 percent. Spending rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $885.1 billion, 7.9 percent higher than a year ago.More
