Positive Signals in U.S. Housing Market Face Land & Labor Constraints

The U.S. housing market is generally exhibiting optimistic signals for the remainder of the year. However, plan for the single-family market to outpace the multi-family market in the coming business cycle. Consumer trends and retail Sales are driving growth in the nonresidential side of construction as well. U.S. warehouse construction and U.S. office construction are growing at double-digit rates and projections from ASA’s economic analysts at ITR Economics call for both markets to rise through at least early 2019, albeit at a slower pace.
