Employer Groups Applaud House Passage of PACE Act
The 50-100 Coalition
The 50-100 Coalition, led by several trade associations, including ASA, issued the following statement this week regarding House passage of H.R. 1624, the "Protecting Affordable Coverage for Employees Act" (PACE Act), which allows states to keep the current definition of a small group market as 50 and fewer employees, or expand the definition of the small group market to include groups up to 100. "As employer organizations representing the interests of millions of businesses of every size, sector, and region, we strongly commend the U.S. House of Representatives for the swift bipartisan action to pass the PACE Act. This important legislation will allow states to keep the current definition of a small group market as 50 and fewer employees, which will avoid dramatic premium increases and allow midsize employers to keep their current health coverage. It is clear Members of Congress recognize that time is of the essence, and we urge the Senate to quickly follow suit in order to avoid significant market disruption and much higher premiums for the small and midsize groups."More

AIM/R Relationship with ASA is Beneficial for Both Groups
Supply House Times
Manufacturer's representatives play a vital role in the PHCP-PVF supply chain. Thus, it was a natural for AIM/R and the suburban Chicago-based American Supply Association to expand its relationship in recent years. Now, AIM/R members that belong to an ASA regional association gain automatic membership into ASA. Today, there are more than 120 AIM/R members with ASA membership. "The relationship has really taken off in the last five years," current AIM/R President Brian Burke of Walled Lake, Michigan-based Burke Agency says. "It makes sense for us to be involved in their organization. It helps us understand their challenges and to be able to assist them. Distributors have identified product training as one of the key issues. As manufacturers reps we can provide that training in the field better than anyone." More

Business 2 Community
The problem with bad management is that it has a spiraling effect on the entire business and company. If the employees don't feel like they can communicate effectively with management, a lot of problems and issues will never come to light. An effective leader should be open to listen to his/her employees and should actively try to find solutions.
