ASA Members Make Generous Contribution

On Oct. 3, ASA presented a $25,150 check to Operation Rise & Conquer having received donations from many ASA members. The mission is to empower our nation's most deserving citizens so that they might regain confidence and trust in themselves and others after having been wounded in the line of duty. The highly personalized nature of this program makes it a particularly powerful and transformational experience for each veteran. Launched just over a year ago, Gerber/Danze CEO, Michael Werner, has been the driving force behind starting the charity, which has raised nearly $100,000 to sponsor 30 soldiers. ASA's Young Executives Division has spearheaded the association's fundraising efforts since its annual Spring Forum in May.More

National Fire Prevention Week 2014

This week is National Fire Prevention Week, which was established by the National Fire Protection Association to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. This year's message is: Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month! No matter what business you are in, fire is an ever present danger and should be dealt with accordingly. Responding appropriately in a fire emergency begins by educating personnel on fire safety. ASA University offers two great fire safety courses: Fire Prevention and Protection and OSHA — Fire Safety. WANE Announces 2015 Board of Directors

The Wholesalers Association of the North East, Inc. held its Annual Meeting & Reception Sept. 9 in conjunction with NetworkASA2014 in Las Vegas. Nearly 80 people representing 40 different distributor and associate members convened to elect the association's 2015 board of directors. Subsequently, the newly elected board of directors held its annual meeting via conference call Sept. 25 to elect the officers and confirm various appointments. Domenic Messina with Peabody Supply Co., a division of Hajoca, will serve as the association's president; Gary Jones with Eastern Pennsylvania Supply Co. will serve as vice president and Rob Seiffert, V., with Rochester Windustrial will serve as treasurer.
