YTD Profit Before Taxes Up for Fewer Distributors

ASA's Monthly Pulse Report provides a regular snapshot of performance for the PHCP-PVF industry. For the month ending October 31, 2015, wholesaler-distributors reported median sales growth of 1.1% compared to the same month last year. Calendar year-to-date, all respondents reported a median sales increase of 5.0%, and the median increase for the trailing twelve months is 5.5%. Inventory rose 2.9% compared to a year ago, and the median three-months average days' sales outstanding edged up to 44.5 days. 56.6% of the respondents reported an increase in gross margin percentages for October 2015 versus 2014, and company YTD profit before taxes increased for 48.8% of the total sample. 55.4% of respondents reported having more FTEs than a year ago.
