Increase Your Warehouse Efficiency
Supply House Times
For modern distributors, technology can support many best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy in the areas of warehouse stocking, put-away, picking and counting. From reclassifying inventory locations and moving items for ease of fulfilling orders, to eliminating employee footsteps and improving timeliness of customer shipments, technology can bring value to your business and help reduce expenses. Most distributors would agree the critical areas where they would like to see improvement relate to accuracy of items and counts, and being able to process more transactions in the same amount of time. These are areas in which technology can help a distributor know what’s in their warehouse, where is it exactly and who is handling it or has handled it in the past.More

Supply House Times

Perhaps he or she can give you a stronger online presence. "Why wouldn't you want someone to take the reins on this? It would be perfect project for a millennial," Katy Mallios Smith told AIM/R members October 15 during their 43rd annual conference in New Orleans. "Encourage them to take the initiative. Giving them a chance to manage — or even develop — a project that excites them allows them to develop multiple competencies outside their job description and is of strategic importance to your company." Smith, a millennial herself, was one of three speakers to discuss millennial employees during their AIM/R presentations. The others were Stew Chaffee, president of rep firm Rich-Tompkins Co., and Chip Hornsby, CEO of distribution company Morsco. More
