Network2015 ASA Roundtable: Part 1
Supply House Times

This year's roundtable panel featured (L-R): Patrick
Sharp (American Precision Supply), Bill Glockner
(Hirsch Pipe & Supply), Glenn Fuller (Texas
Plumbing Supply), Gary Jones (Eastern Penn Supply Co.), and Steven Feiger (Crawford Supply Co.).
In an athletic setting, chemistry among players can be an important factor when it comes to determining team success. In late October, a distinguished panel of five PHCP-PVF distributors had that chemistry flowing during the sixth annual Supply House Times/American Supply Association roundtable discussion at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile during ASA's record-breaking Network2015 event.

The instant chemistry and camaraderie between the five distributors produced a nearly two-hour candid interview session that spanned many industry hot-button topics, including e-commerce, hiring practices, customer credit and distributor relationships with other parts of the supply channel.

Two of the Fastest Growing Groups in ASA
American Supply Association
In 2015, ASA's Women in Industry (WII) and Young Executives (YE) Divisions reached new heights. Attendance for both the WII and YE Division Spring Conferences shattered previous year's records. The divisions continue to be ASA's fastest growing and the "buzz" of the industry. Women In Industry gives an opportunity to make unique connections with those involved in similar experiences and career paths, as well as learn skills in order to reach and "go beyond" their potential. The Young Executives provide a forum for the industry's future leaders to build key relationships and to work together. Plan on attending the Women In Industry Spring Conference (April 27-29 in Chicago) and the YE Spring Forum (May23-25 in Memphis).

Some in the industry have been slow to recognize the differences when the warehouse is dealing with an individual rather than another business. There are at least three kinds of warehousing that involve B2C transactions: fulfillment, home delivery and customer pickup.
