Thursday Webinar to Focus on Coping With
New Pro-Union Rulings From the NLRB and USDOL

Was your company prepared if the federal courts had not ruled that the NLRB’s Poster ruling was unlawful? Are you or your human resources department up to speed on the numerous changes being imposed by the Department of Labor or more importantly, what they would like to do? If not, you or someone on your team should take an hour and join our Free Webinar this Thursday, April 26 at 11:00 EST.

During the last several months, the NLRB and the Department of Labor (DOL) have proposed pro-union rules that could impact every ASA member, along with millions of other employers, by creating new burdens on unprepared businesses and threatening job growth. In January 2012, President Barack Obama ignored the rules of the Senate, along with constitutionally established separation of powers by appointing three new members to the NLRB. The appointments are evidence the Board will continue to operate uninterrupted in its pursuit of diminishing the voices of employers in the workplace. Prominent Washington DC labor attorney Maurice Baskin will update ASA members on the status of NLRB and DOL issued rules and the resulting legal challenges and outcomes.

Mr. Baskin is a partner in Venable LLP's Labor and Employment Law Practice Group in Washington, D.C. He focuses on all aspects of labor and employment law representing management. Mr. Baskin has defended the rights of employers at all levels of federal and state courts, including service as lead counsel before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is currently representing a coalition of business groups who are challenging the NLRB's Notice Posting Rule in the federal courts, so he is most familiar with what the new rule requires.

Mr. Baskin has regularly been recognized as one of the region's top labor and employment attorneys in Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America and the Washington Business Journal. He is listed by the Labor Relations Institute as one of the Top 100 Labor Attorneys in the United States.
