Plumbing Industry Leaders Gather in Washington
American Supply Association

ASA's Mike Adelizzi addresses the
Plumbing Industry Leaders Coalition
in D.C.
This week, ASA joined others as the Plumbing Industry Leaders Coalition convened at its annual meeting. Joined by PHCC, PMI, ASPE, IAPMO and others, the association leaders talked about all things plumbing and water. The group heard an insightful presentation from Dr. Marc Edwards of Virginia Tech, dubbed the "Plumbing Professor" by Time Magazine in 2004. Edwards' work includes the lesser-known health risks such as pathologic bacteria in certain systems and the ongoing issue of leakage in pipes and pipelines, causing billions of dollars and gallons of water to be wasted.

Beschloss: Keystone Pipeline Dodge Degrades Both Foreign Policy and Domestic Economic Objectives
The Desert Sun
With the growing confrontation between the West and Russia reaching a boiling point, President Obama's obvious squelching of the Keystone pipeline engenders both Russia's leverage over an oil and natural gas-dependent Europe, as well as dismaying any positive pushback by the European Union or NATO, in face of Moscow's expansionism.

Reviving US Manufacturing
Modern Materials Handling
Bob Trebilcock writes, "It's counterintuitive. That was my first thought listening to a presentation by Suzanne Berger at the recent Crossroads 2014 hosted by the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. Berger is a professor of political science, co-chair of the new Production in the Innovation Economy project at MIT and the author of Making In America.
