Volume is Driving Profitability for ASA Distributor Members
American Supply Association
American Supply Association distributor members continue to show differing results based on their revenues. The smallest of distributors, with under $10 million in annual revenues, are showing the slowest rate of growth yet the largest growth in increased margin. The largest percentage of distributors are showing reduced YTD profitability. Meanwhile, the association's largest distributors, with more than $125 million in annual revenues, are doing much better with the largest rate of revenue growth, the lowest percentage of distributors showing increased gross profit increases and the most showing increased YTD profitability. Clearly volume is driving bottom-line results.

Uncertainty Continues at NLRB after Latest Court Ruling
American Supply Association/Reuters
Once again, the National Labor Relations Board has been found in violation of the law, particularly because its rulings have been made by an unconstitutionally formed board. In the latest ruling, NLRB vs. New Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation, the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals held that the recess appointment of Craig Becker in 2010, as well as the three appointments made in January of 2012, was invalid. Because of this, their rulings may also be invalid, although the court did not rule on the merits of the case.
