Sales Tax Supports our Community Events and Amenities

Last weekend, many families like mine celebrated the Fourth of July in our local community by watching the annual parade and fireworks, attending community-sponsored concerts and events, or hosting their own BBQs. I couldn't help but think about all the logistics, time and money that go into planning a day celebrating our great nation's independence. As an owner of an 80-year-old family-owned small business, Economy Plumbing Supply Co. in Indianapolis, I understand that the sales tax I collect from my customers at the point of sale supports my town.

ASA Execs Look Towards Future Growth

Last week, the ASA Executive Committee met in suburban Chicago to review divisional updates, discuss membership recruitment and retention and marketing plans, the 2016 association budget, and to review the latest goings on in the key areas of Advocacy, Education and planning for Network2015 in Chicago. The leadership group discussed the association's branding and marketing efforts, its aggressive career recruitment activities on behalf of the industry and ASA's overall support of its industry partners in other key areas.
