House and Senate Look to Challenge the Constitution This Week
American Supply Association
The United States Constitution, the bedrock document that's guided our policymakers for more than 230 years, is once again at the center of two debates in Congress as the summer heats up. While Congress' popularity remains in the single digits, with many believing that the gridlock is leading to inaction, both houses are deeply entrenched this summer in a battle over how to govern our country.

The Senate's 'Nuclear Option' — Just Another Battle Between Labor and Business
American Supply Association
This week in the Senate, their duty to advise and consent has been tested. Many have argued that the president deserves the right to field the team that he so choses, but legally, their appointment's requires passage in the Senate. In order to achieve passage, a 60–vote threshold must be met, lowered from the true 67-vote two-third’s majority that was required before the 1970s. Failing to garner 60 votes, the minority party's rights remain preserved, through the use of the filibuster. While many view the filibuster as a lone senator speaking on Senate floor for hours on end, it's also the term given when 60 votes cannot be reached, preventing legislation or a nomination from advancing.

Supply House Times
America's amazing outburst as the potential global energy leader already is becoming the surprising success story in an otherwise drab economic scenario. While the evolving hydraulic fracturing technology justifiably deserves much of the credit for this unexpected surge, what has been given little credit is the nation's distribution system, unmatched by any of the world's other major producers of natural resources or manufactured goods.
