Industrialized World Marks Anniversary of Historic Disaster

December 3 was the 30th anniversary of the world's worst industrial facility disaster in history. A Union Carbide plant in Bhopal, India, was where more than 40 tons of methyl isocyanate gas leaked from a pesticide plant, immediately killing at least 3,800 people and causing significant morbidity and premature death for thousands more. The ASA Safety Committee is a volunteer-led group of health, safety and environmental subject matter experts that take safety very seriously. Sales Forecast Calls for Up, Even and Away

The annual sales trend for ASA member distributors is up 4.9% overall from one year ago. According to the regular analysis provided by ITR Economics in the November installment of the ASA Advisor, growth is slowing, but results are running toward the upper end of the forecast range, and this trend may continue. Sales for 2014 are expected to come in near the upper forecast limit, up 4.1% from 2013. Growth is anticipated to slow to a cyclical low at the end of 2015, with total annual Sales essentially even with 2014. Sales for ASA member distributors are likely to accelerate in 2016 along with the broader U.S. economy. Supply Chain Executives: More Hiring, Online Buying in 2015
