Eric Holder Lame-Duck Fight? White House Points to McConnell Precedent
Roll Call
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is citing Sen. Mitch McConnell's support for the lame-duck confirmation of then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates in 2006 as precedent for a quick confirmation of a replacement for Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. Earnest made the reference Sept. 26 at the his daily briefing, although he did not lay out a timetable for the president to make his decision.

EPA is Cracking Down on Dentists

Your dentist wants you to clean your teeth. The federal government wants your dentist to clean his office. The Environmental Protection Agency recently released a proposal to cut down on the amount of mercury that winds up in the water supply as a result of a routine dental procedure. The problem? Dentists use mercury and other heavy metals to fill cavities, but those metals can harm human health if ingested.
