The National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) has opted to delay making a decision on its Model Act Regarding Motor Vehicle Crash Parts and Repair. The committee also removed the provisions titled "Choice of Repair Facility," which was the committee's attempt to address insurer steering practices, from the Model Act. More

Daimler's Tata cash offsets losses from EADS holding

Daimler AG's sale of Tata Motors Ltd. shares will cushion the maker of Mercedes-Benz cars from a hit on earnings at European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co. Disposing of the 5.3 percent stake in India's biggest truckmaker will boost first-quarter profit by 265 million euros ($360 million), Daimler said. That's equal to more than half the charge it faces from a 15 percent holding in EADS, Munich-based UniCredit analyst Georg Stuerzer estimates. More
