General Motors has given the tall, hunky Mr. Goodwrench his walking papers, announcing it would drop the Goodwrench name on its dealership auto service and repair programs. EPA study highlights need for underground storage tank cleanup

A recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) study has found that there are thousands of high-priority tank cleanups around the country remaining uncompleted. There are approximately 607,000 underground storage tanks (USTs) nationwide that store petroleum or other hazardous substances. The greatest potential threat from a leaking UST is contamination of groundwater, the source of drinking water for most Americans. The EPA believes these tank cleanups that remain in the EPA backlog must be addressed and completed to avoid potential disasters. More

Chrysler joins Ford against Korean pact

Chrysler voiced its opposition — along with Ford — to passage of a free trade agreement between the U.S. and Korea as written in 2007. In a statement, the Auburn Hills carmaker — which is owned by Italian automaker Fiat, the U.S. government, and a health benefit plan created by the company and the UAW — said while the company "has supported every free trade agreement" the government has negotiated it can't support this one "in its current form."
