That's why St. Cloud Hospital officials are counting on their $240 million expansion and renovation project to take health care safety to a new level. When the project wraps up in February 2012, the hospital will boast "one of the safest health care environments in the country," along with its 178 new private patient rooms, 10 new surgical units, shell space for another 12 surgical suites, new intensive care units, and expanded women's, children's and triage offerings, according to design firm Perkins + Will.More

Bonds for $754M Wishard project get high grades

Three top ratings agencies have assigned high ratings to bonds that will be used to construct the new Wishard Memorial Hospital, the Indianapolis Bond Bank said. The more A's a project receives the better, and Moody's Investors Services, Standard and Poor's and Fitch Ratings all returned ratings of Aa2 or better for the bonds issued for the Marion County Health and Hospital Corp. project.More

Chillicothe, Mo., residents to vote on new hospital

Chillicothe, Mo., voters will decide whether or not to build a new hospital. Construction would require use of the current half-cent capital improvement sales tax, but would not require a tax increase for residents of Chillicothe. The current hospital, Hedrick Medical Center, is owned by the city and was built in the 1930s. The city also would own the new hospital if the proposition passes. Consultants advised the city that building a new facility would be more cost-effective.More
